Micah Scarpelli Signs on with Fluid

Micah Scarpelli.
Fluid, the New York-based editorial, visual effects and original music studio, has added Editor Micah Scarpelli to its editorial roster. The announcement was made by Executive Producer Laura Relovsky.

Scarpelli joins an editorial team that includes Robin Burchill, Greg Letson, Scott Philbrook, John Mallerman, Karama Brown, Jim Rubino and Lead Designer Wes Waldron.

A Chicago native, Scarpelli is a post production industry veteran.  He has cut campaigns for
The Museum of Sex, MTV, BMW, NFL, Smirnoff, Gillette and Subway, among others.  His music video work includes the Rosebuds’ "Life Like," a background video starring Britney Spears for Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” tour and Madvillain’s “Monkey Suite,” which won an MTV Woodie Award.   He also won a Gold medal at the 2005 BDA Awards for a special video presentation piece he cut for Mercedes-Benz.

Scarpelli got his start in editorial by editing visual pieces that were incorporated into retail settings, art installations and special events, before moving into advertising with stints at Cutters and Avenue Edit in Chicago. Prior to joining Fluid, he enjoyed editing positions with Cutting Room and the now defunct Version 2.

Of his recent move to Fluid, Micah Scarpelli says, “I had a really good feeling about joining Fluid.  They’re a great company, and are very focused on advancing my career.” Adds Relovsky, “We’re thrilled to add Micah to our roster. His level of talent and versatility are a great fit for us.”
